Septic Systems

Septic systems are underground wastewater treatment systems that treat and dispose of household wastewater.  Wastewater from a home flows into a septic tank, where solids settle and organic matter is digested. The liquid that remains, called effluent, is then released into a drain field, where microbes in the soil break down contaminants.
